Language changes over time, and the popular overtakes whatever "accepted" dictionaries they might or might not be mentioned in-- or even the use of those words, for that matter. The popular use is what becomes the standard, regardless. What I really hate is how these same people that complain about things like Coke's supposed misuse of the English language tend to praise classic authors for basically doing the same thing in their own times.
