While it's a little said that Until Uru is ending, that's only because Uru is being reborn.

Myst Online Uru Live has a release date of Feb. 15 and is already available in open beta. Information about events that have happened so far is available (unofficially) here.

I know that Uru is being reborn (the same son is a beta participant in the new Uru), but the participants of Until Uru were a tight-knit group, and enjoyed running their own servers. It's the end of an era for them even if it is for a good reason.
