I’m a software developer with a long career, specializing in Python. Whatever challenge you are facing, I can probably help you with it. I have decades of experience with many technologies, and what I don’t know, I can learn. I’m an excellent communicator, able to bridge domains and bring people together.
Although my deepest skills are in Python, I am also well-versed in Javascript, C, C++, SQL, HTML, and CSS.
The best way to reach me is by email. I’m also on Mastodon and Bluesky.
My resume has all the details, but here are some highlights of things I’ve done and can do:
- coverage.py: I’ve maintained the canonical Python coverage testing tool for almost 20 years. I have lots of experience with Python internals and code analysis, and with writing tests and well-tested code.
- edX.org: I worked at the online MOOC provider in an open-source Python and Django codebase. I was the primary contact between the open source community and edX, and did a lot of the process design for how they could work together. I’ve maintained large code bases and built developer tooling such as linters to keep quality up.
- PyCon US talks: I’ve done many well-liked PyCon talks over the years, including the opening keynote in 2023, People, the API User’s Guide. I can present or teach on these topics or others of your choosing.
If you have any questions about whether I can help you, please get in touch, I’d be glad to talk to you about your project.
